I have officially joined the unemployed team! My feeling right now? Too busy to have any negative thoughts. I am catching up with the hiring season and get whipped up by this craziness.
Tonight, instead of working hardcore on my new updated personal website, I decided it is time for me to take photos of my work before they all get torn down from lying around in my portfolio box. This actually is a good move because I need to format them anyways for the new website. The better I prepare, the faster this site is going live.
Check this out, folks!
| DIY Soft Box |
My first ever DIY project that requires cutting and taping. Notice the cutting lines, they are actually straight. I love you X-acto knives! I found the link somewhere a couple of years ago from Strobist (linking from another DIY site) but failed once because the box was smaller than my objects. This time, I saved my box from the Amazon package of my scanner (which was originally for my who-knows-when moving). It is a perfect size because it is big enough but not too deep. I cut out 3 squares from 3 sides of the box and taped the smaller sides with tracing paper. The top was diffused with my curtain taped with clothes pins. I used all the lamps I had in the room to create the light and made sure the white balance was accurate enough.
Here is the result:
