I have to admit that I have been a little bit overwhelmed of keeping up with all my blogs. If you go to my profile, you will see I have about 7 blogs on blogger (I try to keep them separate; if only I can convert all of them into different categories—the kind you see with CMS—and make them into different tabs on my website). Besides, I have two on tumblr, two on wordpress and one on yahoo. None of these listed has been updated the whole semester! Boo!
Anyways, I am graduating in more than a week.
9 days 18 hours and 56 minutes to be exact (Yes, I put it on my widget; you know how nerdy I am)
I am not too excited. More of an empty and confusing feeling. Can we just not talk about graduation in this blog post?
Yesterday, just like any other days, I went to school and decided I would go to work because I have a few projects that need to be sent to the printer. The day went by just as normal as it could be, or worse. No exciting e-mails, no new blogposts, nothing exciting. I didn’t even bother to get on Facebook and turned off all of my social medias. Well, I texted my friends for dinner but got no respond so I figured it was a sign for me to stay focus on working.
I got home around 5:00 PM and thought I would go check my Facebook chat to see what my friends are up to. I have not seen any of them since last Friday because they all live off campus and I was on the RA on duty that weekend. Here is my conversation with Ann Kim, one of my best friends at school and my Asian twin on campus:
Ann: Annie, where have you been???? YOU MISSED IT
Me: What? Where? When? What happened?
Ann: You won!!! You should have come to the Award Convocation
Me: Say what???
Ann: You got the award for the Graphic Design Department
Me: Why? (Oops! I was super confused you can tell!) What exactly is it?
Ann: You got the biggest award
So as you can tell, suddenly my boring Tuesday became one of the biggest event in my entire college life and I missed it...or the ceremony. I am not complaining though. In fact, I was so shocked that I got it. It is not until today do I feel that I really received the award. I am greatly honored to be the recipient of the Artemisia Award 2010 from the Graphic Design Department of Peace College.
It means a lot to me because I am glad that my help to the design community is making an impact that it gets noticed! Oh, I still cannot put this into words so I might come back to this post and write.
